Story-Theatre-Centered Youth Drama School
Fort Collins Children's Theatre offers a layered curriculum for ages 8-17 spanning week-long story-theatre camps, three-week summer musical workshops, and tiered Center Stage tracks performing at the Lincoln Center Magnolia Theatre.
Tiered Programs and Summer Workshops
Classes split by age band with clear progression from storytelling foundations to full musical productions. Programs include:
- Story Theatre (ages 8-12, week-long camps)
- Center Stage Juniors (ages 10-14)
- Center Stage Seniors (ages 12-17)
- After School Story Theater (ages 8-12, spring)
- Summer Story Theater (ages 8-12, two sessions)
- Center Stage 2026: Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Jr. (ages 10-17, three weeks)

- Phone/walkup hours Tuesday-Friday 1-6pm plus pre-event
- Mythology and folktale-based curriculum (Scottish folktales, classic mythology)
- Performance finale on the last day of each camp
Experience
The story-theatre focus is distinctive - rather than just rehearsing existing scripts, kids dramatize folktales and original stories, which produces stronger creative ownership. The Lincoln Center Magnolia performances are a professional-stage payoff that small studio programs can't match.
