Glassmaking Studio and Youth Arts Programs in Newark
GlassRoots is a Newark-based glassmaking studio offering youth programs, field trips, and family classes focused on glass arts. The studio teaches hot glassblowing, flameworking, stained glass, mosaics, and glass fusing.
Programs for Ages 8 and Up
Field trips serve grades 3-12. Youth programs run on weekday and weekend schedules. Programs include:
- Field trips (grades 3-12, $25+/student): glass beads, mosaics, etching, glassblowing demos, and science labs
- YES Program (high schoolers, free): training across glass disciplines plus business curriculum
- PRISM Youth Program (ages 14-26, free): glassmaking workshops for LGBTQ+ youth
- Family glassmaking classes: glassblowing, flameworking, stained glass, and fusing
- Private lessons: mosaics and etching (ages 8+), stained glass (ages 10+), glassblowing and flameworking (ages 12+)

Experience
