Major Art Museum with Extensive Youth Programs
The Newark Museum of Art is one of New Jersey's leading art and science museums, with year-round programming for children and teens. Located in downtown Newark, the museum serves students through summer camps, Saturday classes, and teen internships.
Programs for Ages 3-18
Camp NMOA runs six one-week sessions in July and August, 9am-3:45pm daily. Junior Museum Saturday classes run five weeks per session. Programs include:
- Camp NMOA (ages 3-13, weekly summer camp, $290-320/week)
- Junior Museum (ages 3-13, Saturday morning classes, 10am-12pm)
- Explorers Teen Program (high school students, year-round, paid)
- Family First Saturday drop-in events (monthly)
- Planetarium shows

Experience
Programs are organized by age cohort (3-4, 5-6, 7-8, 9-11, 12+), matching instruction to developmental level. The museum's Junior Museum program has served over 60,000 children since its founding in 1917.
