16-Acre Outdoor Museum Village
Kern County Museum is a 16-acre, 56-building outdoor museum depicting Kern County life in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The Lori Brock Children's Discovery Center adds hands-on indoor STEAM exhibits. The Oil Museum covers the region's petroleum history.
Summer Camp & Education
Year-round STEM and STEAM programs plus a full Summer Camp. Programs include:

Unusual mix - kids walk through a recreated village (general store, one-room school, jail, oil derrick) then move to hands-on indoor stations. Strong fit for elementary kids studying California history and STEAM topics. Closed Mon-Tue; open Wed-Sun 9am-4pm.
