Nature Center on the Kern River Parkway

The Kern River Parkway Nature Center sits inside Hart Memorial Park on the Kern River, eight miles northeast of downtown Bakersfield. The center runs free public programs in partnership with local nature groups, anchored by the wildlife habitat of two 10-acre lakes.

Free Public Programs

Director and partner organizations run free educational programs for kids and adults. Programs include:
