Knoxville Arts Center
About
Knoxville Arts Center is the city's Parks & Recreation arts facility on North Broadway, offering low-cost classes that span preschool art through teen ceramics in a full clay studio.
Programs
- Preschool Art (3-5) - story-based projects geared to short attention spans
- Clay Classes (6-17) - Thursday morning pottery on electric wheels
- Summer Camps - 3-D Printing, Sculpture, Wheel Throwing, Myths & Legends, Comic Book Camp
- After-School Art - twice-monthly Wednesday sessions
- History + Process Classes - art history themes paired with hands-on projects
What's Included
Clay, glazes, tools, kiln firing, and glazing are all included in registration. The studio also offers independent bench time for older students working on ongoing projects.
Experience
The center runs out of a city-owned facility with a dedicated clay studio (electric wheels and kilns) plus a hardwood-floor performing arts studio with mirrors. As a Parks & Rec program, tuition stays well below private studio rates, and registration opens by season for camps and recurring classes.
