30+ Years of Junior Golf in Katy

Layne's Little Linksters is a summer junior golf academy at Meadowbrook Farms Golf Club in Katy, led by PGA Director of Instruction Layne Ricks and his staff with over 30 years of combined teaching experience. The program runs 8 sessions each summer, Tues–Fri mornings.

Junior Programs

Summer academy for ages 6–17, grouped by age and ability:
- Young Linksters (ages 6–8) — beginner-friendly introduction
- Older juniors grouped by skill level
- 4-day sessions running 9 AM to noon
- 8 sessions available May through July
- $300 per session (members $280)

What's Included

• Daily instruction covering putting, chipping, pitching, and full swing
• Classroom sessions on golf etiquette and rules
• Clubs provided if the student doesn't have their own
• Daily snack and juice included
• Awards ceremony with completion certificates on the final day
• Drills and games to keep it fun alongside fundamentals

Experience

A well-established summer program that works especially well for west Houston and Katy families. The half-day format (9–noon) fits easily into summer schedules, and the 4-day sessions are short enough that kids can try golf without a big commitment. Club lending removes the barrier of needing equipment upfront.
