Kentucky's State Children's Theatre
Lexington Children's Theatre, founded in 1938, is one of the oldest continuously operating theatres for young people in the country and serves as the State Children's Theatre of Kentucky.
Kids and Teen Theatre School
A four-quarter, on-site Theatre School serves ages 4 through 18, plus elite teen companies. Class offerings include:
- First Stage Players for ages 4-6 with story-based drama
- Play Makers for ages 5-7 exploring contemporary literature and themes
- Performance Workshop for ages 8-14 in acting, voice, and movement
- Teen acting companies and an elite musical theatre group
- Theatre in Education initiatives and statewide outreach
What's Included
- Indoor classrooms and a second-floor Learning Stage for final sharings
- Speaking roles in culminating performances
- Financial aid up to 50% of tuition based on need
Experience
Students build acting, vocal, and movement skills across multi-week quarters that end in performances on LCT's stages, with progression tracks that carry kids from first classes into teen companies.
