About
The Creative Workshop is the Memorial Art Gallery's school of art, running out of the basement of Cutler Union on the University of Rochester museum campus.
Programs
- Creative Camps - winter, spring, and summer break day camps
- Saturday Art Classes - school-year cohorts across mediums
- Birthday Parties - private studio bookings tied to gallery visits
- Workshops linked to current museum exhibitions
- Teen portfolio development sessions
What's Included
Materials and instruction are bundled into class fees. Classes draw inspiration from the Gallery's collection, and student work gets displayed in rotating shows. Need-based scholarships are available.
Experience
The school sits inside Cutler Union, an early-20th-century building on the museum's University Avenue campus. Kids alternate between studio work and gallery walks, taught by professional artist-teachers rather than rotating volunteers. Open Monday-Friday 9am-5pm with classes scheduled around the museum's hours.
