ASU Mullett Arena's Community Iceplex
Mountain America Community Iceplex (MACI) is the community sheet inside Mullett Arena on the Arizona State University campus on S Packard Drive in Tempe, opened in 2022 as the home of ASU Sun Devils Division I hockey. The community side runs alongside the main 5,000-seat arena bowl and serves as the new home for Desert Youth Hockey Association after Oceanside Ice Arena closed in 2023.
Programs For Kids
Programming covers the full beginner-through-competitive pipeline. Programs include:
- Learn to Play Hockey (ages 4-12, first-step intro classes)
- Learn to Skate group classes
- Jr. Sun Devils Elite (DYHA) youth hockey
- ASU Figure Skating Team practice ice
- Adult hockey leagues
- Public skating sessions (summer programming year-round)
- Hockey camps and clinics
- Birthday parties on ice
- Stick and puck sessions

Experience
MACI/Mullett is the obvious choice for Tempe, ASU-area, and south-east-valley families - kids skate in the same building where Sun Devils Division I hockey plays. Opened 2022 to replace aging Oceanside Ice Arena, the modern facility raised the bar for community hockey programming in the East Valley.
