North Peoria Karate Academy

North Peoria Karate Academy is a traditional Shotokan karate dojo in the North Peoria/Vistancia area, tucked into Suite 111 of a North Lake Pleasant Road plaza. The instructor staff brings over 100 years of combined martial arts experience and teaches authentic Shotokan as the primary art, complemented by Kodokan judo and jiu-jitsu material at higher levels so students get a complete striking-plus-grappling foundation rather than a single-discipline silo. The youth program is built in two tiers: Little Dragons / kids classes start as young as age 3 with motor-skill games, listening drills, and the first hand and foot positions, then transition into the youth Shotokan track for ages 5-12, where students work through the standard kihon (stances, blocks, strikes, kicks), the Heian kata progression, light controlled kumite drills, and structured belt testing on the way through the kyu ranks. The academy emphasizes the same dojo etiquette and bow-in / bow-out culture used in JKA-style schools in Japan, alongside discipline, focus, and respect as guiding principles for kids at every belt. Students range from absolute beginners to international competitors and professional athletes, so the program scales with talent and ambition. The Lake Pleasant Road location is convenient for families in North Peoria, Vistancia, Sun City, Anthem, Sun City West, and the broader West Valley. Class hours run weekday evenings Monday through Thursday. Trial classes are available for new students.
