Pegasus Playhouse
About
Youth Theater Founded by Three-Decade Educator
Pegasus Playhouse is a Eugene non-profit youth theater founded in 2019 by Scott Frazier-Maskiell after three decades of musical-theater education. The organization runs after-school classes, summer camps, and full productions while also bringing theater into Eugene-area schools.
Classes, Camps, and Productions
Programming covers technique training plus full mounted productions for young people. Programs include:
- After-school classes
- Summer musical theater camps
- Scene study
- Mime and movement
- Character building
- Voice and choreography
- Monologue workshops
- Improvisation and stage combat
- Technical theatre training
- School outreach productions
What's Included
- Rehearsal home at Wesley UMC
- Original works alongside classics
- Multi-discipline training (acting, dance, voice, tech)
- School-tour productions that bring theater to Eugene-area campuses
Experience
The founder's 30-year background in musical-theater education shows up in the curriculum's depth - scene study and movement training aren't typical entry-level kids' theater offerings. The classics-plus-originals model is rarer than pure musical-theater programming and gives kids broader exposure.
