Pentacle Theatre
About
60-Year Salem Community Theatre With Workshops
Pentacle Theatre is a long-running community theatre west of downtown Salem, set in a rustic playhouse surrounded by Oregon oaks and Douglas fir. The theatre has been operating for more than 60 years and runs classes and workshops alongside its production season.
Classes and Workshops Program
Programming combines a multi-show season with rotating workshops for community members and youth. Programs include:
- Theatre classes and workshops year-round
- Production volunteer opportunities for backstage learning
- Public-performance season at the theatre stage
- Box office and operations split between downtown box office and the west-side performance venue
What's Included
- Performance space at the rustic 52nd Ave playhouse
- Box office and class registration via downtown Liberty Street location
- Workshop curriculum from working community-theatre directors and actors
- Multi-decade institutional history with established alumni community
Experience
Pentacle's 60-year run gives it Salem-institution status. The west-side venue is a 6-mile drive from downtown, but the rustic forest setting differentiates it from urban theatres. Best fit for students who want to learn inside an active producing community theatre rather than a classroom-only studio.
