About
Salem Keizer Inspirational Teens, Two Broadway-Style Shows a Year
S.K.I.T. (Salem Keizer Inspirational Teens) Theatre is a structured youth-theatre program operating out of NE Salem. Students grades 1-12 enroll in classes and summer camps, while middle and high schoolers audition for two full Broadway-style productions each school year.
Theatre Education and Productions
Programming covers a wide age range with audition-track productions at the top. Programs include:
- Theatre education classes year-round
- Summer camps for grades 1-12
- Audition-cast Broadway-style productions twice per school year (grades 6-12)
- Act II on-stage program for advancing students
What's Included
- Stage time in two full productions per school year for older students
- Class progression from grade 1 through grade 12
- Audition experience for cast roles
- Broadway-style musical productions as the main output
Experience
The grades 1-12 span plus year-after-year production pipeline gives kids a multi-year arc. Most local programs cap at the high-school senior level or only run summer; S.K.I.T.'s twice-yearly school-year productions are unusual for a community youth theatre.
