Free Coding Course at Providence Public Library
Rhode Coders 2.0 is a free coding program for grades 9-12 run by Providence Public Library on Empire Street. Students can earn 0.5 high school credit through Rhode Island's Advanced Coursework Network and learn web-development fundamentals.
Programs for Teens
Curriculum stacks frontend and backend basics over the course. Programs include:
- HTML and CSS fundamentals
- JavaScript programming
- Python programming
- Game-oriented projects

- Free enrollment (funded by RI Department of Labor and Training/Governor's Workforce Board)
- Computers and software at the library
- Library setting on Empire Street downtown
- 0.5 high school credit option
Experience
Best fit for teens with no or little prior coding experience who want a structured, free intro that also counts toward graduation credit. Open to eligible students through the Advanced Coursework Network.
