Robert Morris University Island Sports Center is a 32-acre year-round indoor/outdoor sports complex on Neville Island, 10 miles from downtown Pittsburgh. The facility features two indoor ice sheets, mini-golf, an indoor driving range, and serves as home ice for the RMU Division I men's and women's hockey teams.

Programs for Kids

The complex runs structured skating and hockey programs across the calendar. Programs include:
- Learn to Skate group classes for kids and adults
- Youth hockey clinics and skill development
- Hockey summer camps
- Youth league play
- Figure-skating progression sessions
- Public skating sessions
- Birthday parties
- Adjacent mini-golf and driving range for family days

What's Included

  • Two indoor ice sheets (Clearview Federal Arena + secondary sheet)
  • Coaching staff including RMU NCAA Division I program access
  • Locker rooms and warm spectator viewing
  • Skate-rental availability
  • On-site mini-golf and indoor driving range
  • Year-round operation

Experience

The two-rink layout supports league, NCAA, and instructional ice without families competing for slots. Beginners work through balance, falling safely, and basic forward strokes; intermediate students add stops, turns, and hockey-specific stride. The complex's size makes it a destination as much as a training facility - families can stack skating with mini-golf or driving-range sessions.
