Roger Machado Jiu-Jitsu Pasadena
About
Roger Machado Jiu-Jitsu on Colorado Boulevard
Roger Machado Jiu-Jitsu sits on East Colorado Boulevard in central Pasadena, founded and led by Master Roger Machado, a Coral Belt (master-level rank) with over 55 years of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu experience. Machado is the nephew of Carlos Gracie Sr. (the art's creator) and was among the first generation of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioners to bring the art to the United States. He was a founding instructor of the original Gracie Barra club in Rio de Janeiro and has 35-plus years pioneering modern BJJ in America alongside the Machado and Gracie families.

Experience
Few schools in the United States have a Coral Belt as head instructor - the rank itself signifies five-decade mastery, and Machado's family lineage to Carlos Gracie Sr. puts the school in the highest tier of BJJ authenticity available outside Brazil. Pattern fits Pasadena families who want their child trained in the strongest possible lineage, not at a generic franchise. The bully-prevention emphasis adds character-development weight to the technical training.
