Experience
Beginners work through balance, falling safely, and basic forward strokes inside before progressing to edges, stops, and either hockey-style stride or figure-skating moves. The outdoor OVAL also lets speed-skating students learn proper stride mechanics on a long course rather than a short hockey sheet. The combined indoor/outdoor format is a regional rarity.
