Sesquicentennial State Park
About
1,419 Acres of Sandhills Forest Around a 30-Acre Lake
Sesquicentennial State Park - locally called Sesqui - covers 1,419 acres of longleaf pine, sandhill forest, and a 30-acre fishing lake in northeast Columbia. Hiking, biking, kayaking, picnic shelters, and a 1756-built log house museum all on-site.
What Kids Can Do
The lake hosts pedal-boat and kayak rentals from the boathouse - kids paddle alongside turtles and herons. Eight miles of trails range from easy lake loops to longer mountain bike paths. Junior Ranger Program runs Saturdays year-round. The 1756 log house museum gives kids a peek at colonial South Carolina life. Splash play area near the lake for hot summer days. Family camping cabins bookable for overnights [marked: lake swimming not permitted - paddling, fishing, and shore play only].
What's Included
$3 per person day-use (kids 5 and under free). Trails, museum, lake shoreline, and playground included. Boat rentals, ranger programs, and camping priced separately.
