The Clay Lady's Campus
About
Nashville's largest clay co-op, with a kids track
The Clay Lady's Campus on Lebanon Pike is a 45-artist pottery co-op founded by Danielle McDaniel (Nashville's original "Clay Lady," 40+ years in). The Campus is a whole compound - studios, a retail shop (Mid-South Ceramics), galleries, and a dedicated "Clay for Kids" space that runs field trips, camps, and family workshops.
Kids clay programs
Kids programming is separate from the 16+ ongoing pottery classes. Options include:
- School field trips (Thursdays, hands-on hand-building + wheel demo, $15/artist)
- Summer clay camps
- Family drop-in workshops (projects like Poof Pots)
- Birthday parties and private group bookings
- Clay kits with 4 projects + tools to take home
What's Included
- All clay and glazes provided
- Firing included for in-studio projects
- Trained studio hosts and working potters as instructors
- Hand-built pieces go home after firing
- Wheel demonstrations included in field trips
Experience
It's a real working pottery campus - kids see actual artists at wheels, not sanitized classroom setups. A good fit for schools planning field trips and for families who want summer camp that sends kids home with real functional pottery.
