Utah Lake State Park
About
Utah's Largest Freshwater Lake
Utah Lake State Park sits on the eastern shore of Utah's largest natural freshwater lake - 96,000 acres of fishable water with Mount Timpanogos rising 12,000 feet beyond the western shore. Sandy swim beaches, paved trails, boat launches, and a Visitor Center anchor the day-use facilities.
What Kids Can Do
The Visitor Center has wildlife displays plus a Tree of Life lifejacket lending station - kids can borrow free PFDs if parents forgot theirs. Sandy swim beach for kids to wade, build castles, and chase shorebirds. Paved 3-mile trail connects to Provo River Parkway for stroller-friendly walks/bike rides. Fishing piers stocked with catfish, white bass, and walleye. Eight playgrounds across the park plus picnic shelters [marked: water levels and beach access change seasonally - call ahead in spring runoff].
What's Included
$15 per vehicle day-use (Utah State Park annual pass works). Beach, trails, fishing piers, playgrounds included. Camping, group shelters, and boat launches priced separately.
