Van Lang Vietnamese Language School
About
Van Lang Vietnamese Language School in South San Jose
Van Lang is one of the largest and longest-running nonprofit Vietnamese-language and culture schools in the South Bay, meeting on weekends at Gunderson High School on Gaundabert Lane in south San Jose. Run by the Federation of Young Vietnamese Volunteers, it enrolls roughly a thousand students sorted into a dozen skill levels across about 35 classes, so children study with peers at their own reading and writing level.

Experience
Van Lang suits Vietnamese-American families in San Jose who want their children to keep the language and cultural ties along a structured, multi-year path rather than a short class. Its scale, level system, and decades of operation make it a strong fit for heritage learners from early elementary all the way through the teen years.
