Waco Judo
About
Waco Judo, the Only Judo Club in Waco
Waco Judo operates on North Hewitt Drive just south of Waco proper, billed as "the only judo club in the Waco area" - and the reach reflects it. The club serves Waco, Hewitt, Lorena, Robinson, Woodway, Heart of Texas, China Spring, Bosqueville, and Bellmead, drawing students from across Central Texas who would otherwise drive to Austin or DFW for traditional Kodokan judo instruction.
Kids Judo Programs
The club runs both recreational and competitive judo tracks for kids, with throwing technique and grappling as the core training. Programs include:
- Recreational Kids Judo (introductory throwing, breakfalls, etiquette)
- Competitive Kids Judo (randori practice and tournament prep)
- Adult Judo (continued curriculum for older teens and parents)
- Senior judo programming
What's Included
- Sensei Jonah as named head instructor
- The only dedicated judo club serving the greater Waco metro
- Both recreational and competitive tracks for kids

Experience
Being the only dedicated judo club in the area means Waco Judo is the de facto choice for families specifically wanting judo (rather than BJJ or generic mixed martial arts). The dual recreational and competitive tracks let kids start casually and grow into tournament training without changing schools. Pattern fits families that want their child grounded in traditional throwing technique and standing grappling rather than the BJJ-and-MMA mix that dominates the rest of the Waco martial arts market.
