Wright Park is a 27-acre Victorian-style arboretum in downtown Tacoma - opened 1890 with over 700 trees of 100+ species. The W.W. Seymour Botanical Conservatory anchors the park's north side. Designed by Edward Otto Schwagerl.
What Kids Can Do
Playground in the center of the park with climbing structures and slides. Three ponds with paddling areas, fountains, and ducks/geese for kids to watch. Open lawn for soccer, frisbee, and picnics. Walking trails (0.7 mile paved loop) wind under the historic tree canopy. Lifesize chess board near the conservatory. Free outdoor summer concert series at the bandshell [marked: weekend lunch hours busy with downtown office workers - go mornings for quieter visits].
