400-Acre County Park with 48-Acre Lake
Ascarate Park is the largest public-use recreational park in El Paso County. The 400-acre site combines a 48-acre lake, lakeside boardwalk, aquatic center, all-abilities playground, golf course, and the Healing Garden featuring native Chihuahuan Desert plants.
Family & Youth Programs
El Paso County Parks partners with nonprofit groups for ongoing youth programs. Programs include:
- Ascarate Fishing Club (ages 3-16) - teaches fishing, ecology, outdoor skills
- The First Tee of Greater El Paso (golf program)
- Canoe and pedal-boat rentals
- Trout fishing (winter), catfish (summer)
- All-abilities playground (open access)
- Healing Garden walks
