About
Musical Theatre Home Inside the Julia Morgan Theater
Berkeley Playhouse welcomes over 1,500 students from Pre-K through grade 12 into musical theatre classes and camps every year, with classroom, rehearsal, and performance space all under one roof inside the historic Julia Morgan Theater.
Classes and Camps Across Grades
Story-based classes lead into more intense "Triple Threat" training, with camps during every school break. Programs include:
- Limelighters Inspired by Mary Poppins (grades 3-6)
- Showstoppers Inspired by Frozen (grades 2-3)
- Triple Threat classes (grades 4-7) - acting, singing, dancing
- Thanksgiving, Winter, and Summer break camps (grades K-7, weekdays 9am-3pm)
- YouthStage productions for older students
- Tech theatre training
What's Included

Experience
The Julia Morgan Theater venue gives even Pre-K classes a real-stage finale - rare for a program this large. Story-based classes around recognizable musicals (Frozen, Mary Poppins) make the curriculum easy for kids to picture before they enroll.
