Boys & Girls Club of Worcester
About
Worcester's Largest Youth Development Organization
The Boys & Girls Club of Worcester operates three clubhouses across the city and runs a Cultural Arts Program that includes drama alongside dance and music, with two multi-week summer drama camps that culminate in full productions.
Summer Drama Camps
Two multi-week sessions wrap each summer with a performance for family and community. Programs include:
- Summer drama camps (two multi-week sessions)
- Year-round Cultural Arts drama programming
- Member-to-member teaching and talent shows
- Theater terms, vocabulary, and stage navigation
- Character development and diction work
What's Included
- Three Worcester clubhouse locations (Harrington main, Kids Club at Great Brook Valley, Plumley Village)
- After-school and summer programming
- Sliding-scale membership for families across income levels
- Final production performance at end of each camp session
Experience
The Boys & Girls Club model means drama happens alongside basketball, homework help, and STEM - kids get exposure to performance arts in a low-pressure setting where they may not have arrived for drama specifically. The final-production format gives them a concrete accomplishment to point to at the end of the summer.
