Hanover Theatre and Conservatory
About
Worcester's Flagship Performing Arts Venue
The Hanover Theatre is downtown Worcester's restored 2,300-seat performing arts venue, with an attached Conservatory that runs year-round classes and summer intensives in musical theatre, dance, and acting for kids and teens.
Conservatory Summer Intensives
Three summer tracks scale from elementary musical theatre up through teen-level intensives. Programs include:
- Children's Musical Theatre Workshop (entering grades 1-4) - theatre games, dance, music appreciation, singing, craft projects
- Pre-Teen Musical Theatre Intensive
- Teen Musical Theatre Intensive
- Dance Intensive Week
- Year-round classes in ballet, contemporary, modern, jazz
- Private lessons
What's Included
- Multiple summer session options
- Showcase performances at end of each intensive
- Conservatory studios adjacent to the historic main theatre
- Faculty drawn from working theatre professionals
Experience
Students learn inside a fully operational regional performing arts complex - touring Broadway productions and the Worcester Symphony share the same lobby - which gives the conservatory more access to professional context than a standalone studio. The grade-1-and-up entry point makes it accessible for first-time young performers.
