Hawkeye Park
About
80-Acre Lakefront Park With Two Playgrounds
Hawkeye Park is one of Ankeny's largest neighborhood parks - 80 acres along a private lake with two separate playgrounds, ball diamonds, tennis courts, and a network of walking trails connecting to the High Trestle Trail.
What Kids Can Do
Two playground areas split by age - toddler-only sandbox and swings, plus a big-kid climbing-and-slide structure. Lake offers fishing from the bank for bluegill and bass. Tennis and volleyball courts for older kids. Baseball/softball fields host city leagues. Picnic shelters with grills bookable for parties. Connects to High Trestle Trail for biking [marked: lake swimming not allowed - fishing and shore play only].

Free day-use of playgrounds, courts, trails, and lake. Shelter and field reservations through Ankeny Parks.
