Otter Creek Park
About
100-Acre Sports-and-Play Complex
Otter Creek Park is a 100-acre Ankeny city park with baseball fields, soccer fields, a playground, picnic shelters, and walking trails connecting to the Otter Creek Trail. One of central Iowa's better dual sports-and-play complexes.
What Kids Can Do
The playground has climbing structures and slides plus accessible play equipment. Six baseball diamonds and three soccer fields host city leagues - good place to watch youth sports. Walking trails (paved 1.5-mile loop) connect across the park - stroller and bike friendly. Picnic shelters with grills bookable for parties. Creek crossing on the trail lets kids hunt for tadpoles and crayfish in summer [marked: baseball/soccer fields heavily used spring-fall - check city schedule before driving up].
What's Included
Free day-use of playground, fields, trails, and creek access. Shelter and field reservations through Ankeny Parks.
