Ice Barn Indy
About
Westfield's Skills-Focused Hockey Barn
Ice Barn Indy is a small-sheet training facility on Westfield Park Road dedicated to skill development rather than league play. The non-regulation ice surface is sized for puck handling, edgework, and skating mechanics, which makes it a popular off-season and supplemental training stop for kids playing in the larger IYHA and Fuel Tank programs.
Programs For Kids
Programming is split between weekly skill sessions and clinic-style instruction. Programs include:
- Learn to Skate
- Breakfast Club weekly skill training
- Academy program (development track)
- Pop-Up Clinics for goalies and puck handling
- 3V3 leagues (B1 and D divisions)
What's Included
- Smaller specialized ice sheet for high-touch skill reps
- 3V3 format gives every player far more puck time than full-ice scrimmages
- Position-specific clinics (goalie focus available)
- Coaching geared to development, not winning house games
Experience
The Ice Barn fills a niche the big twin-sheet rinks don't - kids who already skate but want focused reps on stick skills and small-area games. Many travel-team players add a Breakfast Club or Academy session as their second-touch of the week.
