Academy Tennis at La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club
La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club's Academy Tennis program runs out of the resort's courts on Spindrift Drive, with the Pacific Ocean a short walk away. Director of Tennis Conan Lorenzo brings honors including 2019 USTA Janet Lauer National Organizer of the Year and 2018 San Diego USPTA Pro of the Year. The Academy welcomes both club members and non-members.
Junior Tennis Programs
Programs are structured as tiered Academy classes:
- Tier 1 (Beginners) - first racquet contact
- Tier 2 & 3 (ages 8-11) - foundational stroke and rally
- Tier 4 (ages 10-17) - intermediate competitive prep
- Tier 5 (High School) - varsity and college prep
- Academy classes meet 1-3x weekly
- Summer Camps (ages 5-14) - Regular and Competitive tracks
- Private lessons and clinics

Experience

The Tier system gives kids a clear progression. Summer Camps split Regular and Competitive so casual and serious players each get appropriate-level grouping.
