17th Street NE Traditional Okinawan Goju Ryu Karate Dojo
Salem School of Karate on 17th Street NE teaches Goju Ryu Karate, Kobudo (traditional Okinawan weapons), Shudokan Karate-Do and Seito Karate-Do, with a dedicated kids class for ages 8 and younger Monday through Thursday at 5:30pm.
Kids Karate
Multi-style traditional Okinawan and Japanese karate curriculum. Programs include:
- Kids Karate (ages 8 and younger, Mon-Thu 5:30-6pm)
- Youth Karate

Experience
Unusual depth of traditional karate styles in one dojo - Goju Ryu (Okinawan "hard-soft"), Shudokan (Japanese), and Seito as separate tracks plus Kobudo weapons. Strong fit for families wanting authentic traditional karate rather than commercial-chain curriculum. Younger kids work on basic stance and movement through the dedicated 5:30pm tier; older kids progress through kata, partner work and eventually weapons.
