Tennessee BJJ Academy
About
Tennessee BJJ Academy on West College Street
Tennessee BJJ Academy sits on West College Street in northwest Murfreesboro, teaching Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai with a kids program that starts as young as age 3. Programs run separated by age and skill level so younger students train at their own pace without getting matched against teens who have years of mat time.
Kids Jiu Jitsu Programs
The academy splits children into two main divisions running three weekday afternoons, plus a dedicated homeschool slot. Programs include:
- Little Kids' Class (Monday, Wednesday, Friday 4:00-4:30pm, 30-minute format for the youngest students starting at age 3)
- Big Kids' Class (Monday, Wednesday, Friday 5:00-6:00pm, full 60-minute training)
- Homeschool BJJ (Friday 1:00-2:00pm, midday option for homeschool families)
- Adult Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai (separate evening schedule)
What's Included
- Age and skill-level separation, no mixed-age mat sessions
- Pathway from preschool through teen and into adult BJJ
- Muay Thai available on the same schedule for cross-training
- Free trial class available by sign-up
Experience
Kids build confidence, discipline, respect, focus, and physical fitness through structured BJJ training while learning real self-defense skills. The 30-minute Little Kids format matches preschool attention spans rather than forcing 3-year-olds into hour-long sessions. The homeschool slot is a less-common offering that fits Rutherford County families on flexible weekday schedules. Pattern suits families who want serious technical BJJ training without the commercial-franchise feel.
