About

1.5-Mile Live Oak Allee on the Isle of Hope

Wormsloe is the 1736 estate of colonial founder Noble Jones - 822 acres on the Isle of Hope. The signature feature is a 1.5-mile drive lined with 400 live oaks planted in 1890s, draped with Spanish moss creating a tunnel of green.

What Kids Can Do

Kids walk or drive the live oak allee - the most photographed mile in Georgia. The Tabby Ruins (1740s lime-shell foundation of Wormsloe's first house) sit at the end of the drive. Interpretive trail loops through maritime forest to marsh views. Living history demonstrations on weekends show colonial blacksmithing, musket firing, and hearth cooking. Nature trail loop adds 1.5 miles of forest walking [marked: living history demos run weekends only - check the calendar before driving].
