YMCA Honolulu's Cooking-Week Day Camp
The YMCA of Honolulu operates its day camp programs out of the Tenri Cultural Center on Nuuanu Avenue. Cooking-themed weeks run regularly throughout the summer, with kids in grades K-5 making international and local Hawaiian dishes alongside the camp's other activities.
Kids Programs
Day camp cooking weeks for grades K-5. Programs include:
- Around the World Cooking week (fried rice, sushi, tacos, etc.)
- Basic & 'Ono: Easy 'Local' Cooking Fun!
- General day camp with cooking, outdoor play, arts, field trips, Hawaiiana, nutrition
- Weekly rotating themes

- Mon-Fri 7 am - 5:30 pm program structure
Experience
Cooking weeks integrate with the full YMCA day camp - kids cook in the morning then move to other activities. International cuisine selection paired with local Hawaiian dishes. Weekly rates $240 members / $300 non-members. Tenri Cultural Center venue gives a uniquely Japanese-cultural setting for camp.
