Edina's City Ice Arena and Skating School
Braemar Arena is the City of Edina's multi-sheet ice complex, hosting public skating, association hockey, figure skating, and the Braemar Arena Skate School. The arena sits inside the larger Braemar Park sports complex on the southwest side of the Twin Cities metro.
Programs for Kids
The skate school runs across fall, winter, and summer sessions for ages 3 through teens. Programs include:
- Learn to Skate USA group classes for ages 3 and up
- Hockey-track classes within the skate school for beginning players
- Figure skating progression classes for ages 3 to teen
- Developmental Skating sessions for extra on-ice skill work
- Tot Time for younger children getting first steps on ice
- Open Skate sessions for drop-in family practice
- Dream Adaptive Skating spring sessions for adaptive skaters

Experience
Beginner skaters work on falling safely, basic forward and backward strokes, stops, and turns. Hockey-track classes layer in stick-handling and puck control once edges are stable. Registration opens 4-8 weeks ahead of each session.
