Richfield Ice Arena
About
Richfield's City-Run Ice Rink
The Richfield Ice Arena is a city-operated indoor rink that has served the south Twin Cities metro since 1971. It's the home rink for Richfield High School and Academy of Holy Angels High School and runs community programming through the Richfield Hockey Association.
Programs for Kids
The arena offers structured skating and hockey tracks across the season. Programs include:
- Skating lessons for ages 3 through teens and adults
- Little Spartans Youth Hockey for ages 4-11
- Grade 4-5 competitive youth hockey teams
- Stick and puck practice sessions
- Open skating sessions for families
- Ice rental for clubs and birthday parties
What's Included
- Indoor ice sheet with locker rooms
- Skate rental and warm spectator area
- Group instruction during skating lessons
- Coaching staff with hockey playing experience
- Stick-and-puck drop-in time outside of league games
Experience
Younger Little Spartans players work on first-time hockey basics, balance, and shared-ice etiquette. Older youth move into team play and the association's competitive grade-level squads. The skating-lessons track parallels hockey for families who want learn-to-skate without the league commitment.
