Twelve Indoor Clay Courts on Roosevelt Island
Roosevelt Island Racquet Club (RIRC) is part of the Advantage Tennis Clubs family and operates twelve indoor Har-Tru clay courts that stay temperature-controlled all year. The club sits on Roosevelt Island in the East River, accessible by tram, subway, or bridge from Manhattan and Queens.
Junior Tennis Programs
The junior side covers players from age 4 through teens across multiple tracks:
- Red Ball Tennis - introductory play with foam balls and shorter racquets for the youngest beginners
- Junior Development - progression through orange, green, and yellow ball levels
- High Performance Training - advanced competitive training for tournament-level juniors
- Junior Tournaments and Private Lessons
- Summer Tennis Camps and Red Ball Tennis Camp
What's Included
- Court time on indoor Har-Tru clay courts
- Group coaching from Advantage pro staff
- Age-appropriate balls and racquets for younger levels
Experience
Clay is gentler on growing knees and rewards rallying over power, which suits kids learning the game. RIRC operates seven days a week from 7am to 11:30pm, leaving room for after-school and weekend programming. The club caters to both serious junior development and casual learn-the-ropes play.
